Kids growing up with no memory of pre-internet days might have a harder time recognizing what things they read online are not real. A study in the UK found that “nearly one in ten of eight- to 15-year-olds [believe] the information they encounter on social media websites and apps is ‘all true.’” That’s twice as many as 2014. Only half of the children in the study understood that advertising is a main source of income for YouTube, and less than half knew that vloggers could be paid to endorse products. (TechCrunch)
