The Severance “innie vs. outie” meme is taking over social media   Imagine waking up one day and realizing your alter ego—the version of you out in the real world—has the absolute worst taste. That’s basically the horrifying and hilarious premise behind the latest Severance meme taking over social media. If you haven’t seen the Apple TV+ show, here’s a quick rundown: The show, which dropped in 2022 and kicked off Season 2 in January, follows employees at Lumon Industries who undergo a “severance” procedure that splits their work and personal memories. Their work selves (or “innies”) have no idea who they are outside the office, and their personal selves (“outies”) are blissfully unaware of what they do all day at Lumon. Sounds existentially terrifying?
