The massive hype around crypto arguably reached a peak roughly two years ago, when brands couldn’t stop asking about NFTs, and headlines about everything from digital land to bitcoin were everywhere you looked. In response, YPulse’s 2022 Buying Into Crypto and NFTs dug into why Gen Z and Millennials were so attracted to digital investments, and how they stacked up to stocks. These days, brands aren’t asking as many questions about digital investing, and could be forgiven for thinking that the trend is not as relevant anymore. And we’ve certainly seen some sentiments around digital investing cool down over the last few years: the number of 13-39-year-olds who tell YPulse they would accept part of their salary in cryptocurrency dropped from a shocking 49% in 2022 to 37% in 2024. (And from 50% in 2022 to 44% in 2024 among 18-24-year-olds.)
