Gen Z and Millennials miss being a kid—and why wouldn’t they, when adulthood for these gens is so challenging? YPulse’s WE Kidulting trend report shows one of the top activities these gens do to feel like kids again is to watch video content they used to consume as kids. Over half of 13-39-year-old Europeans rewatch the same kids’ content today that they watched growing up. These kids’ TV shows are an integral part of today’s youth culture, not just their past, serving as a cultural baseline for generational humor and memories. And for that exact reason, they also make great brand marketing opportunities. Brands need to know which children’s TV shows are their fave to rewatch because these shows are having a significant impact beyond entertainment. Characters can be seen on clothes, as toys, in video games, and even as part of (or the whole basis of) experiences such as musicals and exhibitions.
