Skittles is helping young Brits break their algorithm-approved style. To celebrate the launch of their new Flavour Flip, Skittles invited young Brits to the “Flip Your Fit Salon,” a one-day pop-up event in London. There, visitors could get personalized style advice from Abigale Masters—a creative known for her bold outfit choices—alongside hairstylists, makeup artists, nail techs, and color and style specialists. New research commissioned by Skittles shows 42% of Gen Z adults see the same fashion trends repeated on their social feeds multiple times a day, while 48% say social media has made their personal style less creative or expressive. Meanwhile, 65% see looks they’d love to try but don’t feel confident enough to wear, and 56% say fear of being judged for dressing differently stops them from experimenting more with their style. Through this activation, the candy brand hoped to encourage Gen Z to have a little more fun with their style, trying and embracing unexpected combinations much like—you guessed it—Skittles’ Flavour Flip.
