Tinder just announced a new double date feature that allows friends to pair up and match with other duos. It’s not the first tool the dating app has released with Gen Z singles in mind, but it satisfies their preference for dating side by side even further. The new “Double Date” feature reflects the gen’s desire for a “low-pressure, group first way to explore the world of dating.” It’s something that Gen Z may have not known they needed, but as both young males and females share a fear of rejection and being seen as cringe, group dating could take the pressure off just two people. According to Tinder, it’s a winning move already, with women who used the feature during testing were three times more likely to like a duo than they were to like individual profiles. Plus, individual users in general sent 35% more messages in double date chats compared to one-on-one. (Newsweek)
