Spain may consider lowering voting age to 16-years-old.

Spain may consider lowering voting age to 16-years-old. In an unpopular move, Spain’s Minister for Children and Youth is looking to build this proposition into an existing Youth Law draft. But coming from the “hard-left” Sumar party, it’s facing criticism from both right-wing parties and even within its own supporters. Proposers say it gives young people agency in the things that will affect them in the future, but others argue this is an attempt to secure a larger liberal voting base—adding 16-17-year-olds would add some 1M voters—to sway election outcomes. However, 18-24-year-old Spanish voters are actually most likely to support the right-wing Vox party, more than the Sumar party behind this push. (The Local Spain)
