Almost all babies and toddlers watch screens for more than the recommended time. The World Health Organizationβs official guideline on screens states that children under two-years-old shouldnβt be exposed to screens at all, and that two-five-year-olds screen time should be limited to one hour daily. But a recent study from the University of Canterbury which tracked over 6K children found that 80% of zero-two-year-olds exceed recommended screen time limits, and this number rises to 95% among three-year-olds. The study emphasized the relationship between screen exposure and negative outcomes such as lower academic performance, diminished social interactions, and higher health risks. (The Telegraph)
