Since last year, young people have grown more accustomed to integrating artificial intelligence into their daily lives. In 2023, YPulse’s AI Unpacked trend report found 45% of 13-39-year-olds had used an AI chatbot like ChatGPT and now, our 2024 AI report data shows 61% have used one. But while stories of AI-written essays and generated art are everywhere, the top reason they’ve used it is actually for advice. And just as YPulse predicted at the end of 2023, young people are growing inclined to ask AI for medical advice, treating the tech as their own DIY doctor. At the end of last year, YPulse’s 2024 Predictions said this year we would see a shift from AI as a background tool to a central feature of lifestyle choices, particularly in retail and healthcare.
