There’s been growing buzz that Gen Z is leaning more conservative than ever before, thanks in part to a Times article published earlier this year that reported that Gen Z believed more in dictatorship than democracy. It’s true that some Gen Z are inclined toward conservative views, and tend to learn these views from an online echo-chamber. This is especially true among young males in the so-called “manosphere”—and it’s a topic that YPulse explores in-depth in our latest trend report, Trad Wives and Alpha Males. But YPulse data shows that when asked about their political affiliation, only 13% of European 13-24-year-olds say they’re conservative. The vast majority of Gen Z in Europe (66%) see themselves as either moderate or liberal, which reflects a political leaning that advocates for social equality, individual rights, and is committed to democratic rules.
