Across the world, tweens have been raised with access to tech devices, social media, video games, and the internet since they were young(er) kids, which has shaped their day-to-day lives and expectations. And while data from YPulse’s Tween Study trend report shows that young parents wait until their children are at least 10-years-old before giving them their own smartphone, kids aren’t waiting until they’re tweens to be hooked up to screens. Despite the UNESCO advising to keep screens away from under two-years-old, and parents trying hard to balance their kids’ screen time, the reality is that screens are an integral part of Gen Alpha’s upbringing: the majority already own at least one tech device.
