Chinese POPMART Labubus are the next great toy-turned-trend taking over the internet, resale platforms, and even street style. Labubus are elf-eared, sharp-toothed plushies that are somehow creepy and cute at the same time. Like other viral toys as of late, these little creatures come in “blind boxes,” where buyers don’t know which design they’ll get, dressed in everything from medieval cloaks to desserts. And fans aren’t just collecting them—they’re hunting them like rare treasure. Some editions resell for up to $700, online restocks sell out in seconds, and fans line up at IRL stores for hours just for a chance to snag a rare one.   Lately, they’ve transcended from just being collectible toys to a tiny fashion status symbol.
