Lorde debuted a new single at a public park pop-up in NYC  Like with the other spontaneous events in the revived town square, which YPulse predicted we’d see more of this year, the singer dropped a simple message to fans: “Meet me in the park. Tonight 7 p.m.” No extra details, not even which park. But thanks to a recent TikTok (her first ever on the platform), of her strolling through Washington Square Park while vibing to her new song, “What Was That,” the location was locked in for real fans.  By 6.pm., hundreds had swarmed the park blasting Lorde’s music from speakers, dancing, and even climbing trees to catch a better view. One TikTok (with over 460K likes) shows off the dancing crowd, jokingly captioned, “everyone here is unemployed this is so beautiful.” But at 7.pm.
