Between high inflation, wars overseas, and major natural disasters fueling climate anxiety, young Americans faced a lot of stress in 2024. But perhaps the biggest source of stress, and of course potential change, for many was the Presidential Election. So, YPulse asked young Americans directly who they voted for and how they were feeling post-election. Our data reveals that among 18-39-year-old voters, 39% voted for Donald Trump and 27% voted for Kamala Harris (30% decided not to vote and 3% voted third party). And their votes are definitely playing a role on their mindset on the year to come. As they step into 2025, brands are eager to understand how these experiences have shaped young people’s outlook on the world in the wake of Trump’s win—and what they think it means for the future.
