  • Kamala Harris has gained substantial ground compared to Biden’s previous support, particularly among young women, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community
  • Trump continues to hold a strong base, particularly among young males
  • The race is tight though and fewer voters are undecided than they were in May
Earlier this year, YPulse’s 2024 Election report data showed young people were not happy about having to choose between President Biden and former President Donald Trump. In turn, there was a significant number (24%) of Gen Z and Millennials old enough to vote were undecided—a stark shift from previous years. When we reported on who they would vote for if the Presidential election were held that day in May, 18-39-year-olds were divided to no majority. However, Trump had a +9pt lead on Biden, holding 40% of the hypothetical vote at the time. But the tides may have turned now that Kamala Harris has joined the race.  Within days of Harris announcing her plan to run, we saw an outpouring of support for her on social media.
