Over 73M young Europeans across the region are getting ready to vote in the next few days for the EU elections. Many countries have realized the importance of having politically engaged young people for a healthy democracy and have been calling for more young people to head to the polls. Four countries in the European Union have even lowered the voting age to 16 to allow more young voters to make their voices heard. At the last EU elections back in 2019, young people broke records of participation. It’s possible more will head to the voting stations this year and political experts are already looking at Gen Z’s growing influence on the European elections.
