Ulta Beauty is launching a MUSE Accelerator Program for early-stage BIPOC-founded brands. YPulse research found that BIPOC young consumers are leading the skincare trend. Last year, Sephora revamped its Accelerate Incubator Program to focus on more BIPOC brands to keep its promise to be diverse and inclusive. Now, more of the beauty industry is following suit: Ulta Beauty announced that it is accepting applications for its MUSE Accelerator, an inaugural program dedicated to supporting early-stage BIPOC beauty brands to launch and thrive in the retail space. In the fall, eight BIPOC beauty brand founders will receive $50,000 for brand development, and each participant will attend a 10-week curriculum of virtual and in-person sessions focused on brand strategy and positioning, retail 101, and supply chain and logistics. At the end of the curriculum, participants will get the chance to pitch their brands to potential investors and merchants. (WWD)
