A new bill in California could keep toys from listening in on kids’ conversations and transmitting personal information without parental consent. The My Friend Cayla doll and the Intelligent Robot pair with smartphone apps & require children to answer personal questions, like their name, date of birth and current location, during set up. The bill would require consent before toys could share this data with a company that contracts with military and intelligence agencies.
