Will Gen Z Watch the Super Bowl on Sunday?

 YPulse asks Gen Z and Millennials if they’re watching one of the biggest games of the year—and how

  • The majority of young viewers who plan to watch the Super Bowl, plan to watch live on TV
  • But they’re also turning to social media to watch highlights and clips from the game
With Super Bowl Sunday just days away—do Gen Z and Millennials actually care? Some might be surprised to hear that they do. YPulse’s Sports and Athletes data shows that 67% of 13-39-year-olds identify as sports fans, up from 63% in 2022. And these young gens are watching sports more often: 39% of 13-39-year-olds watch broadcast sporting events compared to 25% in 2022. YPulse data also shows NFL football is the most-followed league / sport among young consumers, with U.S. followers growing by +15pts since 2018.  Last year’s Super Bowl was the most-watched U.S. broadcast since the 1969 moon landing. And, for the record, YPulse data shows that 28% of 13-39-year-olds said Taylor Swift influenced them to watch. So how will 2025 compare? Well, our recent survey found that 70% of 13-39-year-olds say they’ll be tuning in this weekend.
