Vaping is So Gen Z, Cigarettes are So Millennial

Gen Z is supposedly a “mild” generation when it comes to vices, but they didn’t crush smoking the way everyone once thought they would

Gen Z has a reputation for avoiding the risky behavior that previous generations, like Millennials, ran wild with in their teens and twenties. If you believe the headlines, you might think this generation doesn’t drink, smoke, or do drugs. But over the last five years, young adults’ smoking habits have seen some notable changes since Gen Z grew up. YPulse called out in 2018 that though Gen Z’s risky behaviors were at an all time low, vaping was their signature vice. At the time, 35% of teens told us their friends were vaping.
