Fox Atomic, News Corp.’s recently shuttered 2-year-old genre studio, is being rebranded to become Fox Digital Studios, a new unit that will focus heavily on branded programming. David Worthen Brooks, a former senior VP at Fox Atomic, will act as creative director of the digital studio, tapping Roger Mincheff, former founder-CEO of digital marketing agency Spacedog Media, as its new senior VP-branded entertainment of digital content. “Family Guy” exec producer David Goodman has sealed a new two-year, seven-figure overall deal to remain at 20th Century Fox TV. At the studio, he’ll continue to work on “Family Guy” and assist as the animated hit undergoes a showrunner transition. As previously announced, Goodman and Chris Sheridan are passing the showrunner baton to new bosses Mark Hentemann and Steve Callaghan. (Variety)

Nike says Michael Spillane will be the new CEO of its Converse brand, replacing Jack Boys, who will retire. Spillane, who has been president of North America and global product for Nike’s apparel business, will report to Eunan McLaughlin, president of Nike, Inc. affiliates. (MediaPost, reg. required)

MySpace announced that Mark Rosenbaum has been hired as its chief financial officer. Although the appointment marks the first time that the social network has had a CFO, it is Rosenbaum’s second stint at News Corp. He headed up financial operations at Gemstar-TV Guide International, when it was owned by the Rupert Murdoch-helmed conglomerate. More recently, Rosenbaum served as a consultant to MGM. (CNET)

MySpace also announced a new sales boss: MTV Vet Nada Stirratt who until recently was running digital sales for Viacom’s (VIA) MTV Networks. (All Things Digital)

George Kalogridis has been tapped prexy of the Disneyland Resort. Former Disneyland Resort prexy Ed Grier announced his retirement last week. Kalogridis has been with the company since 1971, when he started as a busboy at the Contemporary Resort in Walt Disney World, and most recently served as chief operating officer at Disneyland Resort, Paris. Alison Donalty has been named executive art director at HarperCollins Children’s. She had been art director there. (Publishers Lunch via Mediabistro, reg. required)

Kaplan Higher Education has appointed Beth Hollenberg, 42, the new chief operating officer (COO) of Kaplan Higher Education Campuses. As COO, Hollenberg is responsible for the operations of the more than 70 Kaplan Higher Education campuses across the United States. Hollenberg reports to Jeffrey J. Conlon, president and chief executive officer of Kaplan Higher Education. (press release)

Lisa Licht is upped to GM/Hasbro Studios. Prior to her promotion, Licht served as GM/Entertainment and Licensing, Hasbro. She has been part of the executive team working to integrate efforts for the new Hasbro/Discovery joint venture. Previously, Licht held several senior positions at Twentieth Century Fox, including as EVP/Global Marketing, and had also served as SVP/Marketing, Mattel where she managed the Barbie brand. Jessica Cole has been named senior director, marketing at Scholastic Classroom & Library Group. She had been director of marketing at Scholastic Classroom Books (MediaBistro,reg. required)
