New York-based social marketing agency Mr Youth has appointed Jamie Egasti to its Board of Directors as the fifth and final member. Egasti will play an active role in driving the growth of Mr Youth’s business by leveraging his 30 years of experience at P&G to help better understand how the agency’s services can holistically aid its current roster of CPG clients. Scholastic’s trade publishing division announces a slew of promotions and new appointments: Stacy Lellos is promoted to VP/Trade Marketing. BookRenter.com, an online textbook rental service for students, has landed a big fish for its board: Netflix co-founder Mark Randolph. The former CEO of the online movie rental company retired in 2002 and since then has been investing in and advising a number of startups. (GigaOm)
Walt Disney Company in India names Raju Venkataraman as VP and GM, Disney Media Distribution (DMD), the new name for Disney-ABC International Television, Disney’s integrated media distribution arm. Reporting to Mahesh Samat, MD, Disney India, Venkataraman will oversee licensing of branded/non-branded content across all platforms. He will also continue to his responsibilities as VP/Channel Distribution, DMD Asia Pacific, continuing to report to Rob Gilby, MD/DMD Asia Pacific. (Cynopsis Kids)

Burger King has tapped Natalia Franco as exec VP-global CMO. Ms. Franco was previously global VP-marketing and innovation at Coca-Cola Co., where she was charged with supervision of the brand’s division that serviced BK rival McDonald’s. MySpace announced Jennifer Mardosz as their new Senior Vice President and Chief Privacy Officer effective immediately. MySpace appears to be taking a proactive role by promoting a MySpace veteran and heavy hitter like Mardosz to the front lines leading the Safety, Security & Privacy teams where she will be responsible for evaluating various impacts of privacy laws and policies for MySpace. Playboy Enterprises, Inc. named Paul Lee as managing director of new digital ventures. Effective May 17, Lee will be responsible for launching, acquiring, partnering with, and investing in new digital business opportunities. (MediaPost, reg. required)
