Prom QueenLots happening with video on the old "tube" and online video - Last week I posted about former Viacom execs launching Next New Networks. Now, according to USA Today, Michael Eisner is forming a studio, Vuguru, "that will acquire and develop slickly written, produced and acted Web video." Their first web show? Prom Queen, 80 episodes of "a blend of love, gossip and betrayal." Turner is also getting into this game with its new comedy site SuperDeluxe. For amateur filmmakers and aspiring television producers, these sites are going to be star makers. In other online video news, Christians evidently felt the need for their own version of YouTube called GodTube. Does God upload videos?

Back in the linear world, the New York Times, reg. required, gave lots of ink to the "High School Musical" sequel this weekend. And Nick's tween ratings win with "El Tigre" is proving the power of multi-cultural programming. And just in case you missed this in the SXSW post, Current TV just launched in the UK and Ireland today.
