Ypulse NYC Teen Media Mashup: It's ON

Posted by anastasia on 09-15-2006

Here's the scoop. Mr. Youth has stepped up as the Silver sponsor for the event. This means it's happening. I'm still looking for a Gold sponsor to make sure people get free drinks vs. just food and a cash bar. So if you're company is interested, email me. I'm waiting to hear back from several potential sponsors, but it's pretty much first come first serve.

The important details:

When: Wednesday, November 8, 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Where: Mannahatta (DOWNSTAIRS)

You MUST RSVP for this event in order to attend. No walk-ins. To RSVP, email me and let me know the names of everyone who plans to attend (you can't say you plus 5) and what company or organization you are with.

The roundtable discussion will be "The future of teen magazines." It won't be a traditional panel - no Power Point! It will be a discussion and anyone who is there can chime in. I will moderate and ask questions to the panelists to get things started, then you get to ask more questions. So far, Christopher Gonzalez, the executive editor of Conde Nast's new site Flip has confimed to join the round table. I'm waiting for definite confirmations from Betsy Fast (EIC of Twist), and Atoosa Rubenstein (EIC of Seventeen). Matt Britton from Mr. Youth will be lending his expertise to the roundtable as well. I will let you know the final lineup as soon as it's all definite.

I am also looking for a great youth media organization (ideally one that publishes a print magazine) to highlight at the event. This means the .org gets to make its pitch, sell subscriptions and network with for-profit folks who may be great partners. I'm waiting to hear back from Youth Communication but feel free to email if you're interested.

P.S. Gawker has some fun high school yearbook photos from WWD of some familiar teen magazine editors…
