Ypulse Essentials: Sprite's 'Yard,' Fashionable Sims, The Daily Tube

Justin Timberlake signs his first artist (Dutch YouTube starlet Esmee Denters. She's going to be huge.) (News.com)
- The New York Times discovers virtual paper dolls (you can read my earlier BizWeek column on this here)
- Sprite's mobile 'Yard' (Is it me, or does anyone else wonder if teens are really going to go to this branded mobile community? They better have some pretty good giveaways/downloads) (press release)
- Kids using gadgets at earlier ages (no surprise here — my friends baby loved to put her cell phone in his mouth) (Media Post, reg. required)
- The Sims get fashionable (with H&M)
- Green U (Canadian youth flocking to environmental studies programs) (Globe & Mail)
- The Daily Tube (cool site designed to help you stay on top of the "best" web video without having to search or wait for your colleagues to email the links)
- MTV Russia gets really Russian (now that it has been purchased by Russian owned Prof-Media) (Forbes)
- Manga vocab (Tokyo Pop teams up with Kaplan to create a Manga series designed to help students learn vocab for the SAT) (press release)
- 'The Prison Life' (if you can't get enough of the Paris Hilton mug shots or blow by blow reports of how she's doing behind bars, you can play this game - ugh)
P.S. Here is the Washington Post's teen shopping hub site — I mentioned a few articles from it yesterday. And…our latest Mashup press release (forward it on!)
P.P.S. You heard it here first (bigger announcement to come): Ypulse will be producing another Mashup in NYC in September focused on tweens and technology. It will be a shorter event, more like our Music Mashup pre-conference, but just as packed with great speakers. And, it's being held in conjunction with Digital Life, one of the biggest consumer technology events of the year.

Are you predicting that Esmee Denters will "be huge" in America, or are you being sarcastic?

Nope. Not being sarcastic. Since she is Justin Timberlake's first artist, she's going to be promoted to the hilt. And…she's incredibly talented/has a great voice.
