I was quite culture-shocked when I arrived in America. I'd go to house parties and no-one would even be smoking weed, let alone anything stronger. Very strange. Drugs are just a part of the social scene in the UK, at any social level. Here in the US they seem to be a very hidden subculture which is segregated from "normal" youth culture.
