Ypulse Essentials: Intern Memo, Stickam’s Sticky Situation, Ford’s Wiki Sitcom

Posted by anastasia on 07-11-2007

The WigglesPop songs replacing nursery rhymes? (I think it’s more like The Wiggles and Barney edging out Humpty Dumpty) (Ananova)

- Intern Memo (a new newsletter for all those Gen Yers learning the ropes. Jossip points out an interview with one intern who said a little too much about her experience – oops!)

- Texting behind the wheel (teens still doing it…plus stats on other not so good stuff they’re doing while driving) (USA Today)

- The Stickam porn connection (this is really not good PR for them, disgruntled exec or not. My advice for damage control would be to physically separate the two companies and start talking specifics about your online safety measures) (New York Times, reg. required)

- ‘Best Years’ goes mobile (The N series teams up with Enpocket)

- eMarketer makes cool graphs (round up of some recent teen stats, some of which I’ve linked to in Essentials already)

- Calling all Advertars! (“Taco Bell partners with Gizmoz and MTV to launch a ‘virtual casting call.’ Future digital celebrities will have the pleasure of appearing on a late night commercial in the MTV Video Music Awards.”) (AdRants)

- J.C. Penney’s back to school ads (tell a story but don’t really show product. N.Y. Times, reg. required, wonders if they will work?)

- Ford sponsors a wiki sitcom (in Europe — pretty cool)

- China in bad need of sex ed (state blaming Shanghai teen pregnancies on the internet) (Reuters)

- If you think YouTube is just for teens (check out this WSJ video of who showed up to the NYC meetup)
