High School Musical 3 on MySpace

'High School Musical 3' on MySpace (since most of the viewers are over 14, right?)

- Club Penguin's newspaper (doing better than its real world counterparts - kinda funny) (Wired)

- Smart girls rock! (new Vanilla Star Jeans ad featuring Olympic gold medal gymnast Nastia Liukin) (Media Post, reg. required)

- Teens wary of mobile ads (limited by price and chatty as ever. Lots of mobile research from ComScore) (Media Post, reg. required)

- Energy drinks (making teens sick.) (L.A. Times, reg. required)

- Teens react to Palin pregnancy (once again teen pregnancy dominates the headlines….thanks Andrea! Also, for all you educators reading — the story about the Wikipedia edits made to Palin's entry is a great teachable moment) (Boing Boing)

- McCainSpace (John McCain relaunches his social media effort)

- Battlefront (new effort from Bebo and Channel 4 aimed at inspiring teenagers to use the web "as a canvas for social change." Check it out here) (The Guardian UK)

- Fly Virgin 'Entourage' (Virgin names a plane after the popular HBO series. Plus USA Today examines young men's changing perceptions of masculinity) (Variety)

- Open source textbooks (industry vets making textbooks free online) (Wired)

    Hi there,
Youth Radio could really use your help in spreading the word about our National Conventions Coverage.

Youth Radio's National Network team has been in Minneapolis-Saint Paul covering the Republican National Convention this week. Last week they were in Denver covering the 2008 Democratic National Convention. The team is made of young reporters and producers from around the country including Appalshop in Whitesburg, Kentucky, Radio Arte in Chicago, YR Oakland, YR DC, YR LA and YR ATL. Youth Radio has assignments from NPR - All Things Considered and Morning Edition, Boing Boing TV (big site on the web), Univision, the San Francisco Chronicle and others.

Please check out the front page of the
http://www.youthradio.org to follow all of the coverage.

    The Flickr page
http://www.flickr.com/photos/youthradio/ is particularly interesting (check out the crew hanging with Al Sharpton, Barbara Boxer, Charles Barkley,
"Cousin" Jeff Johnson of BET Fame, talk show host Michael Baisden, The Daily
Show crew and many many others).

Would you be interested in linking back to us or spreading the word about our coverage?

    Thank you!
