Ypulse Essentials: Gene Simmons Gets Cranky, No Lame Games, Habbo Theft
Posted by anastasia on 11-14-2007
Dove's 'Reality Diaries' (A tipster just sent this to me — I haven't had a chance to spend time with it yet. It reminds me a little of Seventeen's "Freshman 15." And Jessica Weiner's involved. Read her Ypulse interview if you missed it. And 3iYing says it actually is making girls feel bad about themselves…
- USA Today discovers ('webisodes' and mobile social networking. Plus 18-24 year olds looking for "new things to do" with their phones ) (Media Post, reg. required)
- No Google phone (Ypulse reader Becki says: "Instead Google has created a basic platform device with phone functions and are asking user to create their own applications for it. I predict this to be a lot more popular than iPhones.") (MyYearbook)
- 'Hannah Montana' lawsuits (fans suing fan clubs over lack of concert tix - thanks Eric!)
- Gene Simmons sounds like a cranky old man (dissing on those music-stealing college kids. Plus new legislation being proposed to withhold funding from colleges that don't rat out their downloading students) (Reuters) (Bits)
- Kids want games in their stockings (just not lame ones) (News.com)
- Marvel comic books (go digital) (USA Today)
- Learn to be a cool hunter (with this new blog - DIY Trend Forecaster)
- 17-year-old arrested (for stealing virtual furniture paid for with real money in Habbo Hotel! Thanks Lisa!)
P.S. Speaking of virtual worlds, I'm off to eat something and then prepare for the Common Sense Media/MacArthur Foundation panel this evening. You can watch a webcast here.

Thanks for the new info on Dove and the 3iYing perspective. Not sure I'm behind the 3iYing concept yet, as an advertising agency, but their article offers some hope.
