    Re “schools are banning Silly Bandz as a distraction”

    Kids looking down at their bracelets are paying as much attention as they would if they weren’t wearing bracelets.

    This is authoritarian intolerance.

    Adults over-reacting to something new.

    When I was a kid, coin-operated videogame machines were banned near schools in NYC. Another idiotic over-reaction by adults to kids enjoying something new.
