Ypulse Essentials: Broken Heart Dolls, Reebok Wants Teens To 'Talk Krazy,' TMZ On MySpace
Posted by anastasia on 10-02-2008Note from Anastasia: I'm off to Washington, D.C. for a forum at the National Endowment for the Arts tomorrow. Hope to be able to blog about it next week. For now it's secret. I can't log into Bloglines for some reason, so if I missed big news today, email me or send a tip and I'll post tomorrow! Also, we have one volunteer spot left for Boston…
If you love Ugly Dolls… (you'll love these Broken Heart Dolls. The press release says the new line is for teens and tweens. The creator says, "The middle and high school years are a landmine of self-doubt, and what girl couldn't use a super-snuggly pal who understands their insecurities." I still could use one!)
- Reebok wants teen boys (to write on their sneaks. I used to write on my Saddle Oxfords at the private school I went to before getting kicked out:) Check out the microsite here.) (Media Post, reg. required)
- Levis has a monster in its pants (and it does a funny dance. That's a B52s reference. This viral is definitely getting controversial buzz)
- Forbes discovers Hipsters (at Fashion Week. Plus eMarketer on how retailers are reaching Gen Y on social networks)
- For all you train wreck lovers (TMZ launches on MySpace)
- Small Worlds (another new virtual world in beta — this time for teens.)
- Gen Y not reading… (nutrition labels!) (Medill Reports)
- Don't vote, really. (New celeb-filled voting PSA that feels like its aimed at young voters. Thanks Andrea!) (Tech Crunch)
- Tips for recruiting millennials (on campus. And new research on how companies are struggling to reach the younger generation) (AdAge.com, reg. required)
- ACDC joins Rockband (in an exclusive deal. Plus really interesting science post on ratings on games and movies impact parents and teens. Hint: R or mature ratings make teens want to see it or play it more) (Mobile Content Today) (Science Blogs)
- First treatment program (for "manorexia" opens up)
P.S. For all you "Twilight" fans, Stephanie Meyers & co. posted the first song from the soundtrack.
