Friday Night LightsVarsity blues (the L.A. Times, reg. required, on how high schools focus on their star athletes and teams to the detriment of everyone else…And tonight is the premiere of "Friday Night Lights" on NBC, which has amazing buzz, and was one of my favorite flicks. With the "Gilmore Girls" fizzling, feels like a FNL + VMars teen Tuesday to me…or for a dose of reality, there's "True Life: I'm Addicted to Crystal Meth") (New York Times, reg. required)

- LOL! Teens actually writing on IM (they're not just using acronyms - Study shows short-forms comprise only 2.4% of teenage IMs…) (Collision Detection)

- The fit list (which colleges are "cut" according to Men's Fitness)
