I can SO relate (this is kind of the theme of these new American Eagle ads for Aerie loungewear set to air with the premieres of "Gilmore Girls" and "Veronica Mars" on the CW. Customers dressed in Aerie relate the themes of the shows to their lives. ) (USA Today)
- Happy would be 90th birthday (Roald Dahl (from this blogger who used to act out James and the Giant Peach and who was formally known as Veruca Salt to her mother. Also for anyone interested in writing YA fiction, the Nashville Scene has an article about how the genre is changing and broadening to include authors who didn't think their books were for teens)
- IvyGate (it's not a scandal, it's a blog by Ivy Leaguers for Ivy Leaguers) (GenNext)
- New Forrester research on Gen Y (for all you folks who pay for this stuff)
- Homework! Give me a break! (wasn't that a Kit Kat ad? Anyway Slate reviews a couple of books that say homework does squat for younger kids)
- How to find a college where you won't get harrassed or beat up (a new guide for LGBT high school students) (New York Times, reg. required)
- Back to BASIC? (For all you techies, Salon.com, daypass or subscription required, has an interesting story called "Why Johnny can't code" about how new software keeps kids from learning the fundamentals of programming)
- Spleak up! (this has got to be one of y'all's dream jobs. I'd do it if it weren't full time…)
