CW hits the malls (the tour includes a CW Lounge [orchestrated by Alloy] where teens can "create their own T-shirts with the network slogan 'Free to Be' and customize them with their own expressions." Coupled with the channel's 15-seconds of fame promos, it definitely sounds like they are trying to integrate the ugc-angle into their brand) (Promo)

- Should P&G be 'educating' girls about Tampax in schools? (interesting article about this in BrandWeek - they only go in when invited, but I think they should just partner with credible health educators and sponsor cool unbranded materials that just have a link to Beinggirl.com for more info)
- Helio opens its own version of the 'Genius Lounge' (invests in chain of cellphone stores targeting tech-savvy young people) (Textually.org)

Regarding the CW slogan of "Free to Be."
There was a 1970s TV show, "Free to Be You and Me."
Apparently, in the 21st century we aren't free to be you and me, anymore. We're only "free to be." Free to be obedient? Free to be walked on? Free to be quiet?
What a strange slogan.

UPDATE on "Free to Be."
When the Promo article said the slogan of the CW is "Free to Be," I thought they meant that was the whole slogan.
But wikipedia has the CW using a slogan of "Free to Be Together" which makes more sense.
