Talkin' About Tweens At The Ypulse Youth Marketing Mashup

Posted by anastasia on 03-03-2009

We are hard at work behind the scenes planning our third annual Ypulse Youth Marketing Mashup in June and wanted to share some exciting content developments. People often ask what age range Ypulse covers, and I tell them it's 8-24 or tweens, teens and early twentysomethings. It's a big range, and a lot to cover in one conference, but if you work in the tweens space, we think we have a lot to offer you this summer.

Kids and Tweens Online: Balancing Safety and Fun (brought to you by Privo) I've mentioned the Kids Online working group on Ypulse before and the Wiki/podcasts that they've been creating for folks working in the "under 13″ digital space. We've teamed up with our friends at Privo to offer an "unconference" on Sunday afternoon, May 31st, for folks in this space to roll up their sleeves and discuss the issues that matter most. Some questions we hope to adress:

- What are your best practices when dealing with kids and tweens online?

- How do you create practices that are flexible based on the age range and content of your Web properties?

- How can you create a cyberspace playground for kids and tweens that balances safety and fun?

- How can brands and marketers play in this space ethically?

These are just some ideas — as with any "unconference" it will be you (the attendees) who get to set the agenda. The folks from Privo will present what comes out of this working session at the main event. If you register for the unconference + the Mashup, it's only $100. If you just want to attend the unconference, it's $150.

Representing the tween space at the main Ypulse Mashup event, we have a keynote case study from Paul Yanover, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Disney Online; Kelly Hugunin, Executive Director, Marketing, Walt Disney Records; and Jason Davis, Vice President, Disney.com focusing on user generated content and their U Rock The Summer Campaign. Daniel Neal, CEO of the tween mobile company kajeet, will also be joining our mobile panel.

Just a few great reasons Ypulse readers trying to reach tweens, should take advantage of our early adopter rates and register today.
