‘Charlotte’s Web’ tops the list of the 100 best books for kids (according to Scholastic’s Parent & Child magazine. Many of our favorites made the list, including the classics “Goodnight Moon” and “A Wrinkle In Time.” Did your top books make the list? In other children’s book news, Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is reading America a bedtime story, thanks to the Book It! campaign which encourages kids to read. He’s reading his favorite childhood book, “Green Eggs And Ham.” We can’t help but wish he’d ad libbed the line “I will not eat them while Tebowing”) (USA Today) (Kidscreen)
- Bonnaroo announced the lineup for the festival this June (and it looks suspiciously similar to the Coachella lineup, right down to Radiohead headlining. In other music news, here’s the full track list for the official “Hunger Games” soundtrack, which has a distinctive country flavor. What songs would you put on your Panem playlist?) (MTV)
- Speaking of ‘The Hunger Games,’ here’s your chance to become a citizen of Panem (via a new Facebook app that generates a custom district ID badge, which includes a QR code that takes you to the Facebook page for your district. Of course, registering as a citizen comes with the risk that your name might be drawn to participate in the games… The app is part of an initiative from CafePress is launching an official merch store. After generating your district ID, you can get shirts and “uniforms” with your district information. We’re in District 6, if you’re curious)
- Michelle Obama will appear on Cartoon Network’s Hall Of Game awards (airing this Monday, February 20. She taped a segment for the show in which she gives a shout out to the city of LA as part continued promotion of the Let’s Move campaign to combat childhood obesity) (Cynopsis)
- MySpace and Fox are teaming up for an eight-episode online series (called “Wolfpack of Reseda,” with sponsorship from Kia. The dark comedy features a young guy, disenchanted with his life, who gets bitten by a creature in the woods. Convinced he’s become a werewolf, he forms his own wolfpack that roams the San Fernando Valley. Netflix is also debuting an original streaming series, its second, this one a comedy about a communications executive serving time in a women’s prison for drug-related crimes) (THR) (Bloomberg)
- We’re looking forward to getting a whiff of Burt’s Bees new personal care line (aimed at Millennials, though we’re not very excited about the name, Güd. The line is designed for 18-24 year olds who care about ingredients and the environment, but wouldn’t call themselves full-fledged “crunchy” hippies) (MediaPost)
- Oscar de la Renta is asking fans to submit inspiration (for his next fashion line. A crowdsourced fashion line is quite revolutionary; it’s luxury fashion by the masses for the few… Wait, what?) (PSFK)
