Meet The 2012 Youth Advisory Board Members: Part 2

The Ypulse staff is guided by a group of highly talented Millennials who keep us — and you — in the know about the latest trends in youth attitudes and culture. In their posts, they share their perspectives on media, marketing & advertising, technology, and the latest news — from what bugs them to what they think is awesome. You can always find YAB member contributions in the Youth Advisory Board section of the site.

We’ve asked the 2012 YAB members to introduce themselves to you in their own words. Below you’ll find the bios of new and returning members who inform, inspire, and energize us in our work with the Millennial generation. To contact members of the YAB, you can leave a note in the comments below, or email thema at youthadvisoryboard @ ypulse.com.

Meet The 2012 Youth Advisory Board: Part 2

Caroline Marques

CarolineCaroline is an American student enjoying her senior year of high school in Geneva, Switzerland. This year will be her fourth year serving on the Youth Advisory Board, which she loves, as it allows her to keep up with a lot of U.S trends and do what she loves the most: write. She spends her time trying to master several languages, traveling, kick-boxing and enjoying music and dance, as well as her two favorites: reading and writing.

Amanda Aziz

AmandaHailing from Canada, Amanda has been a Youth Advisory Board member at Ypulse for over three years now. She enjoys reading, writing, watching films, and being a volunteer for Mindyourmind.ca and a street team member for MTV’s A Thin Line. What she does not like, however, is writing about herself in third person.

Julia Tanenbaum

JuliaJulia is a junior in high school living in Claremont, California. She has been on YAB for two years, and is excited to be back. Like most teenagers, she spends a lot of time on schoolwork, but she also enjoys playing video games, particuarly Japanese RPGS, volunteering, and anime. She spends a considerable amount of time online, and loves internet culture, whether it’s Tumblr, music discussion forums, or Memebase. She also loves reading, especially Manga, other comics, and “The Hunger Games” series.

Christian Savarese

ChristianSChristian is your typical teenager. He is very interested in what’s next in pop culture, from TV series to movies. He is an avid reader and loves to write. In school, Christian has always strived to be at the top of his class and is very active in his school community and activities. He is a part of his school’s Model United Nations and Model Congress debate teams, which has helped him pursue his curiosity and strive for knowledge of foreign affairs and current events. He also loves being on stage performing in his school’s theatre productions and musicals. In addition to his love for music and theatre, he also has a passion for science, which he plans to pursue for his future career. But after all the hard school work and tests, Christian always enjoys hanging out and having a great time with his friends.

Nathaniel Prince Lewis

He also participated in the Bahamas National Youth Parliament 2009 and was elected Deputy Speaker by his peers. She also plans to learn how to box and to attempt to stop procrastinating on assignments for school. Sugee asks too many questions during interviews and never underestimates the power of Google.

Syndey Coates

SydCoatesAn American citizen, Sydney currently lives and studies in Canada. She reads…a lot! The good news is that Canadians are generally polite and friendly and don’t seem to mind when she causes mayhem as a result of her nose being permanently attached to a book. That doesn’t mean that an international conflict of “War of 1812″ proportions couldn’t happen as a result of Sydney’s time in Canada. While svelte and diminutive, she’s more than capable of generating disproportionate impact…

Emily Smucker

EmilySEmily is happiest when she is drinking tea and reading a book in a sunny room. She is 21 years old and currently a freshman in college. Majoring in communications and minoring in elementary education, Emily spends her spare time doing theater, blogging, and designing clothing.
