This position plays a vital role in the execution of PR campaigns including all types of media and author events. Responsibilities include: Implementing original and compelling publicity plans for key titles each season through media campaigns, industry, and author events; creating press releases, pitch letters, promotional materials and media lists with a goal of securing national, regional, and local media in print, broadcast, and select online outlets; orchestrating and overseeing tours, pre-pub buzz tours, media lunches, and local author appearances; communicating with editorial, marketing, and sales as part of a cohesive publicity effort for each title; strengthening and developing media and bookstore contacts in addition to maintaining relationships with authors; and helping plan and execute industry events such at shows like BEA.
