I’m Joining ‘The Ps’….

I have some big personal news I wanted to share with the Ypulse community — I’m 36 weeks pregnant with my first baby. There, I said it, I’ve “come out” as a brand new mom to be. Allegedly once we hit the 36-week mark, we’re in the zone where labor can happen at any point so I figured it was time to share.

Many of you who know me personally know that while I tend to share some personal memories on this blog as a way to offer insight or perspective on “kids today” and snippets here and there on my personal Twitter account, I’m not super comfortable sharing my personal life very publicly. So no, I’m not going to post any pregnant photos of myself or “tweet” the birth. Still, I wanted to let you all know in case I mysteriously disappear over the next four weeks where I’m off to and when I’ll return.

Luckily, Ypulse is in very capable hands with Meredith Sires in charge of all things editorial. This means that if you’re not doing this already, please send all press releases, pitches, corrections, etc.  for Ypulse.com coverage to meredith@ypulse.com.

I will be working over the next few weeks until I begin my journey down the rabbit hole that is being a first-time parent, and then I will be on maternity leave until January 4th, 2010. For those of you who like personal details, I will share that I’m having a girl.

I’m told this experience will change my life forever — it’s already beginning to change my perspective. You can tell me how much I am changing once I start posting as a mom next year! Thank you to the Ypulse community for supporting me and allowing me to realize my passion over the last five years.
