		<description>Yes! I have run into this just this week. As a 44-yr old late-adopter to Facebook, I noticed that about the 80 or so &quot;friend&quot; mark, I started getting requests from people I didn&#039;t know, because we had a mutual friend. That was kind of amusing, but now I have seen people I knew in high school are sending me requests, which until now I always approved. 

Whenever I approved one, I would send a little note, but I noticed that I didn&#039;t get responses... so this week, I started responding to friend requests by sending a message. If I get a response, then I&#039;ll probably approve it afterward...

But the bottom line: the cyber-milieu doesn&#039;t really seem to have changed the basic nature of friendship, does it?</description>
