From the Ypulse WTF Files

According to USA Today, a Roman Catholic high school in New Jersey told students "to remove any personal journals they might have or risk suspension." The reason is fear of predators. To me this is an absurd overreaction to the fear being spread primarily by local news in their coverage of teen blogging in general combined with adults' complete lack of understanding about what teens are doing online and what the real risks are…

Swell… Let's shield the kids (almost adults) from the real world and treat them like children because the media terrifies us about the stalkers out there.

This will serve the kids well when they get out of school and don't have the requisite skills of dealing with the real world because their school forbid them to experience it.

Meanwhile, you've got other schools that actually use blogs to share what's going on in the classroom and to enhance the educational experiences, and now elementary and middle schools also produce podcasts.
