'Flight Of The Concords' Cuts 'Footloose'

Posted by anastasia on 09-10-2007

Indulge me. I was on the fence about HBO's "Flight of the Concords" until this scene where Bret is enraged at "the band's" new bongo player won me over completely…

P.S. Did anyone watch the VMAs last night? I actually sat through the whole show (and all the commercials for all the new reality series - I doubt MTV will listen to Justin Timberlake's rallying cry of "Play more videos!"). I felt sorry for Britney — it was obviously too early for her big comeback, and I thought Sarah Silverman was pretty cruel and crude (as usual). Alicia Keys stole the show for me — she was much better than "the finale" and actually sang (didn't lip synch) and played the piano. Remember the Chevy Tahoe user generated content disaster? All those eco-friendly Chevy commercials last night were designed to make you forget it…Feel free to leave your VMA reacts in the comments.

shockingly, i don't have a television - but then again, who needs today when you can just watch videos the next day posted on video sites everywhere?!
i had the misfortune of finding britney's vma performance on google video. it was sad. especially with the comments area being filled with things like "go home and take care of your children" and quickly finding mashup videos of the new single with images of a sloth in the background (commenting on britney's less than enthusiastic performance).

as a side note, the movie "hot rod" also did a dance tribute to "flashdance" that made me pee my pants (along with other references to "karate kid" and "footloose"). if you have not seen this movie yet… do it now!

I don't have HBO, but "Flight of the Concords" is my new favorite to watch on YouTube. Thanks for the clip!

As for the VMAs, I sat there thinking how hard MTV is trying to keep up, and they are failing. And many people are noticing.
