Finding a Dorm Roommate Kinda Like Internet Dating
Posted by anastasia on 08-30-2004The Washington Post (registration required) has a cute story about how colleges are now using techniques similar to that of dating Websites to help their students find the perfect roommate:
"This year, Georgetown is trying out an elaborate new computer-based matching system that, with its anonymous messaging and common-interest search tools, bears more than a passing resemblance to popular dating Web sites."
This would have been helpful to me since I was randomly assigned my first roommate at Antioch College. I knew when she would sit up late at night making tape recorded messages to her best friend, it was time to move.
