'Degrassi,' Hip-Hop Anime & More from the New York Times
Posted by anastasia on 07-25-2005Here's a quick round-up of must-reads from the Sunday/Monday New York Times, reg. required: The Arts & Leisure section looks at how the N is attempting to make "Degrassi" appropriate for U.S. viewers (or really their parents). Also in Arts & Leisure, a look at hip-hop anime, made in the USA, without the usual unflattering Japanese stereotypes. The Sunday Styles section profiled the Collegehumor.com guys who are making big business out of beer and T&A for the male co-ed. Today's Arts & Leisure section looks at vlogging and gives props to a UK teen's vlog called the 05 Project. And finally, a Times reporter recently spent time at my office (Current TV) and wrote about it in today's Media & Advertising section.

Ahhh…Degrassi. As a Canadian teen I loved the original, but was happy enough to see the new ones on the "N". I had no idea they were being censored. Kids in the Hall got censored down here too. Interesting.
