The Globe and Mail writes about the blossoming of Internet radio in Canada focusing FatPipeRadio.com, a new station geated towards 18-24 year olds. The story implies that young Canadians have abandoned traditional radio for the Internet:
"According to Statistics Canada, teenagers' radio listening dropped 25 per cent from 11.3 hours a week in 1999 to 8.5 hours in 2003."
Internet radio tends to have less traditional (annoying) commercials) and more sponsors as well as playing more alternative not heard on mainstream dials making it a natural choice for wired college students.
