Bring On The ‘Youthiness’ @ SXSW Interactive

I’m starting to get excited about this year’s pilgrimage to SXSW Interactive (it will be my fourth year attending and speaking). I know the panel picking process is very competitive so I feel honored to have been chosen to reprise the What Teens & Tweens Want In A Web Site / Application panel, which will happen Saturday evening at 5 p.m. For those of you who were not at SXSW last year or missed my recap, the session involves me moderating a panel of Austin teens/tweens ages 13 through 18 in a focused discussion about how they are using technology right now. There is video of last year’s panel, but you have to scroll through to find it.
It’s also cool because the kind folks at SXSW give these teens day passes so that they can walk the expo floor and check out (the always popular) ScreenBurn area. Big thank you to the very cool women at OneSeventeen Media for recruiting the tween/teen panelists.
While we’re not having an official Ypulse evening event this year, I am organizing dinner/drinks for folks in the youth space who want to get together after the panel. We will be meeting for food/drinks (separate checks) at Threadgill’s at 6:30 p.m. after my panel Saturday, March 14th. Please RSVP if you plan to join us (we have a reservation for 25 right now).

I look forward to the growing up online panel. Looking back at my digital upbringing definitely makes me want to hear more about other folks’ experiences. Was it as crazy for everyone else, I wonder?
